An artist losing his physical strength.
A population affected by war.
The impact of art.
From May 30 to June 1, 2025, these three themes converged in Amsterdam's Oosterkerk, centered around Jamal Khamis's newest life-size paintings. It was a friendly gathering of people from Amsterdam and around the world. At the same time, it was a moment to reflect on the suffering of the children of Gaza.
The grand opening of the Helen Door Kunst exhibition was hosted by composer and UNESCO Award recipient Merlijn Twaalfhoven, who delivered an impassioned speech about the exhibition's purpose. The donations raised for War Child will be used to provide some relief to the children of Gaza.
On behalf of Jamal Khamis, we would like to sincerely thank all visitors and donors for their attention and support. To look back on the four-day exhibition, you can visit this website in the coming years to listen to the words of our guest speakers and view images from the exhibition.
